We are all garden enthusiasts at Hanson's Garden Village, so you know you can trust our answers and our advice. We look forward to showing you how to make your garden just the way you imagine. Last summer we had koi (gold fish) in our pond. One of the employees agree to keep them over the winter. Following is a poem she wrote about her family's winter with the fish. A Fishy Story Once upon a summer last, We spent our days, in a garden pond vast. We basked in the sun. We swam just for fun. We produced our babies who grew very fast. We nibbled on roots from water plants galore! When people fed us we ate even more. Our colors turned bright. For our home at Hanson's was one to adore. Then, one day, the winds of autumn blew. The chill in the water gave us the clue. The days became short, And as a last resort, We moved to a home, without Brent and Sue. Our home is more humble and made of glass. At night we dine On shrimp (its brine) Which we all devour, and do it en masse. Our keeper is named Drew and it should be known He has named us all since we got our new home. We eat from his hand, The amount is quite grand. And you can 'bet the farm' that we have really grown. Spring is here, much to everyone's delight, Daylight is longer but life isn't right. We love our abode, But want to hit the road That leads to Hanson's pond, for it will be a sight. Our move will be quick, with much ado. But we'll feel like we're in the pouch of kangaroo. It will be warm and dark, But we will leave our mark On the family of a little boy named Drew. But then we will see Brent and Sue! And our view! And in the daylight Our colors will become bright. For our home at Hanson's will be just as we knew. Happy Spring! |
